Learn moreRogersville, Tennessee · Hawkins County
Rogersville is the seat of Hawkins County and one of the oldest towns in Tennessee, roughly twenty-eight miles south-west of Kingsport on 11W. It has a genuine historic center: the second-oldest courthouse in the state, the Hale Springs Inn, Crockett Spring Park where Davy Crockett's grandparents settled, and a listed historic district around Main Street. Beyond the town the county opens into valleys and ridges, with farms up Stanley Valley and Carters Valley and a lot of long, private drives. It is the furthest west we routinely run and the drive does not change what you pay.

The historic core has narrow streets, brick buildings on the sidewalk line and houses with short front setbacks, so placement there is a careful business and often means a rear yard or an alley rather than the street. Interiors in those older houses are plaster and lath with solid timber trim, heavy work to remove. Beyond the center, mid-century neighborhoods have level lots and normal driveways. Out in the valleys it is different again: gravel drives running several hundred feet off the road, farm gates, creek crossings on old culverts, and hardwood overhanging the lane. The ridges either side of town make for steep last stretches on some properties, and red clay under thin gravel is the thing that decides whether we come today or after it dries.
Historic-house renovation is a recurring job here, and it is slow, heavy work: plaster, lath, old flooring, windows and trim, sometimes chimney brick. Around town we see standard remodels, re-roofs and garage clearances. In the county the work is agricultural: barn and silo-shed demolition, fencing, brush and timber from clearing, scrap and old equipment. Estate clearances on farms that have been in one family for generations are common and rarely fit a single can. There is also a steady run of rental and small commercial clear-outs along the Main Street corridor when a unit changes hands.

No. It is our longest regular run and we still do it at the same price, because the cost of a rental is driven by the can and the disposal rather than the mileage. What we ask for is a little more notice so we can route the truck sensibly. If you are likely to need a swap, say so when you book and we will plan both trips together.
Sometimes, but not casually. The streets are narrow, the buildings sit on the pavement line and there is little curb to spare. We will look for a rear yard, an alley or an adjacent lot first. If the street is the only option, that is a Town of Rogersville matter and you should confirm what they require before booking rather than on the day.
Walk it first and count the buildings, because the house is usually the smallest part. Barns and sheds hold furniture, timber, scrap and equipment nobody has looked at in decades. Tell us roughly how many outbuildings are involved and we will size the first can and plan swaps rather than guessing. Set aside fuel, oil, chemicals and tires, because those cannot go in.
It might be, and it is worth checking before delivery. A loaded roll-off truck is heavy across a short span and old farm culverts vary a lot. If you are not confident it will hold, we will drop the can on the road side and let you carry debris across. A collapsed pipe costs far more than the inconvenience of a longer walk.
